Shine a light into your rooms
A house full of dark rooms isn’t going to be an attractive prospect to your prospective buyers. Make sure you trim back any trees or bushes that might your windows and ensure the curtains are kept tied back, to allow your rooms to be illuminated with natural light.
Outdated Tech
Built-in kitchen appliances and solar panels are attractive additions to a home. However, like all technology, many of these items will likely be out of date within the space of half a decade and will be costly to uninstall and replace. Consider upgrading to more recent technology and you could potentially add value to your property!
Swimming Pools
To be fair, not many of us have a swimming pool on our property, but for those who do, it can actually bring the value of your property down. It turns out swimming pools aren’t as fun as they look, as they require a lot of expensive maintenance, they take up a lot of space, and if they’re outside then the great British weather can mean you don’t get a lot of usage out of your pool. It might be worth reconsidering having one installed if you know you won’t be in the property long term.
Japanese Knotweed
Again, not something you would expect to find around the average home, but this infamous weed can damage the foundations of a home and cause subsidy issues which can be extremely costly. If you spot the weed, hire a professional to remove it as quickly as possible.
