As a reputable Fife letting agency, we understand the importance of keeping Fife landlords and tenants informed about the current regulations affecting the Fife rental market. In this article, we will provide all Fife landlords with essential information about the rent cap and the suspension of evictions in Scotland.

The rent cap in Scotland, currently set at 3% in most cases, is set to be extended for an additional six months. Previously, a rent freeze at 0% was in effect from 6th September 2022 to 31st March 2023. From 1st April 2023, the Scottish government increased the cap to 3% and was due to remain in place until September 2023.

However, Patrick Harvie, the Minister for Tenants’ Rights in Scotland, has expressed his desire to extend these measures until March 2024. Parliament’s approval would mark the final date for the rent cap and eviction protections.

June: The Perfect Month to Sell Your Fife Home (Read 2 min)

If you’re considering putting your Fife home on the market, look no further than the month of June.

With longer days, warmer weather, and a sense of renewed energy in the air, June offers a prime opportunity to attract potential Fife buyers and make a successful sale before the kids break up for the Summer holidays.

Here’s why this sunny month stands out as one of the best times to sell your Fife house.

First and foremost, June brings a surge of motivated buyers. As the school year comes to an end and summer holidays begin, many Fife families are actively searching for new homes to settle into before the next academic term. This increased demand translates to a larger pool of interested buyers, leading to more competition and potentially higher offers.

Moreover, the pleasant weather in June allows for beautiful home viewings. Blooming gardens, lush landscapes, and sunlit interiors create an inviting atmosphere that can truly captivate prospective buyers. The longer days mean more daylight hours for showcasing your Fife property’s best features, making it easier for buyers to visualise themselves living in the space.

Lastly, selling in June allows for a smoother transition. With a sale during this month, homeowners can plan their moves during the summer when schedules tend to be more flexible. This can minimize disruptions to work, school, and other commitments, ensuring a seamless transition to a new property.

In conclusion, if you’re contemplating selling your Fife house, June presents an optimal opportunity. Take advantage of the motivated buyers, the picturesque surroundings, and the favourable economic conditions that this month brings.

So, prepare your Fife home, give us a call for a free no obligation valuation, and set the stage to let June be the month that leads you to a successful sale.

PODCAST: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fife-properties/episodes/Thinking-of-Investing-115-000-in-Fife-Property-e25d0dj

“We have recently inherited £115,000. We have contemplated purchasing a Fife buy-to-let property to support our early retirement. Considering that the Skipton Building Society offers a 4.25% return on their 18-month bond and the stagnant Fife property market, we are uncertain whether investing in a rental property is worth the trouble. Kind regards. Mr & Mrs A from Fife”.

Dear Mr & Mrs A from Fife, if your primary objective is to generate income and reduce your workload, buying a buy-to-let property is likely not the favourable option unless you leverage the purchase. Let me explain…
